Internships
“You are a 23 year-old graduate possessing comprehensive practical experience? Then you’re the one for us.” You most probably have seen such advertisements. Not easy to fulfil such demanding requirements, but nor is it impossible - because the Bremen universities and colleges promote practice-based studies entailing work experience, too. This is achieved mainly by means of internships and working on your dissertation in collaboration with enterprises, i.e. field projects.
Previous work experience is a requirement for admission to many of the degree courses on offer. That is why you are advised to find out as soon as possible precisely what evidence of work experience is required.
During your studies, too, you may be required to undertake an internship. The Faculties concerned maintain contacts with a large number of enterprises and will help you obtain internships, both inside Germany and abroad.
You will find lists of internship situations vacant together with a comprehensive directory of organisations involved in student internships at the Career Centers website.
